Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). They made the move to Oxfordshire when she was five which is where she went to her first Dragon School. Emma made the decision to become an actor when she was six. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. The movie's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's film debut. It set new records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. The film was well-received by critics, as were the performance of three new stars. The widely distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her acting performance as admirable. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in the Feature Film. Emma was nominated for five awards for her work in the film.
